It explains and demonstrates many of the enhancements that will make it easier for you to manage and manipulate your data!
If you have not done so already, run the Compatibility Checker to make the upgrade process easier. The Compatibility Checker is a tool that scans your hard disk and compares the applications on your hard disk with a large database of applications. If there are known incompatibilities between System 7 and any of the applications in the Compatibility Checker database, they will be listed along with suggested upgrades and version number information in a report. You should also read the document "Late Breaking News" on the Before You Install diskette for last minute information about System 7. Finally, you should make a back up copy of all your important data before installing.
If you have questions about System 7 that are not answered in the documentation, contact your dealer or use the phone support lines. Apple Phone support is provided in a variety of ways:
• System 7 Upgrade Answerline: This direct telephone service helps customers plan their upgrade, install System 7, and troubleshoot any problems that might surface during the upgrade process. Purchasers of the System 7 Personal Upgrade Kit receive 90 days of toll-free upgrade assistance.
• Customers who have questions about upgrading to System 7 but have not purchased an upgrade kit can contact the Upgrade Answerline by calling 1-900-535-APPL at the cost of $2 a minute.
• Automated Q &A System: This automated, computer-based system allows callers with touch-tone phones to listen to recorded answers to the most frequently asked questions about installing and using System 7. Customers who have not purchased an upgrade kit can call (408) 257-7700 to access the automated Q & A System; they pay only the cost of the telephone call.
